You can get to Route 9 by leaving Circhester from the eastern exit. From there, carry on down the road, past a few Trainers and an item along the way. Soon you will see a couple of Team Yell Grunts – what are they up to this time?

Get close to them, and you will see that they are cheering on the Drednaw – but also preventing people from getting to Spikemuth! The doctor who gave you your bike is also there, and it seems he could use some help. Send Team Yell packing and see what useful reward he has for you this time.

This time, the doctor will modify your bike so you can ride over water! You can use this to move on to Spikemuth, of course, but it wouldn’t hurt to go back to locations you have already visited and check out paths you couldn’t explore before – like the little loop that lies west of the bridge you crossed earlier on in Route 9. There is a TM waiting for you there.

Route 9 is one of the more convoluted routes in the Galar region. Spikemuth is located to the south, but it is worth taking the time to explore the route. There are lots of goodies for you to find!

The first path leading to the west from the shore where you got your bike upgraded is a dead end, but you will find a Zoom Lens there. Then ride back to where you met Team Yell and head east and then south. When a small island with a Trainer Tips sign on it comes into view, turn east and you will come to another little island with a sign and a Protector.

Going west from where you find the Protector will bring you to a large landmass in the centre of the route. Here you will find a campsite, if you want to cook and heal up. And keep your eyes open for sparkles on this landmass. You don’t want to miss out on free items, and you will even find a Rare Candy behind the rocks to the west of the campsite.

Keep heading west from the campsite, with a small detour north if you want to grab a Max Revive. Eventually you will come to a beach where you will see two people in bathing suits. Behind them you will find three Dive Balls.

From the little beach, bike east again, then south through the small passage between rocks. From here, you can find a Berry tree to the east and TM22 Rock Slide to the west. If you are happy with your exploration, then just travel south to reach Outer Spikemuth, where you will find a few more items and another Berry tree.

Once you reach Outer Spikemuth, it will be clear that something is amiss. The city’s entrance is shuttered, and Gym Challengers are stuck outside. Thankfully for you, Marnie is in the area and it turns out Spikemuth is her hometown. She knows another way in, but you will need to battle her if you want to hear about it!
