Now it is time to return to Hammerlocke, but it seems that some sort of situation has been stirred up outside of the city. You will hear what sounds like explosions, and you will run into Leon himself – he has come out to investigate and see if he can get things under control. He will head toward the Route 9 Tunnel, so follow him to see if you can help!

Enter the tunnel, and you will see quite a crowd gathered. It sounds like somehow, Pokemon have started Dynamaxing along the route, even though there are no Power Spots nearby! Leon probably has things handled, but go on through the tunnel – after all, you need to get to Hammerlocke to battle your next and last Gym Leader.

After you exit the tunnel, you will be met by Hop. Apparently, he was caught up in whatever caused Pokemon to start Dynamaxing, but Leon was able to get things under control pretty quickly. He has also managed to make headlines in the process. After Hop goes off on his own again, you will be able to have a look around.

Now, you may have already noticed that leaving the tunnel brought you to Route 7. You are actually just east of Hammerlocke now, in a little corner of the route you weren’t able to reach before. Head west across the bridge and you will start seeing a more familiar landscape – to the north is Route 8, the route you took to Circhester

When you first came through Route 7, you may have noticed part of it was inaccessible. That is exactly where you are now! You will find a campsite here with TM58 Assurance nearby. And make sure you don’t miss the slope just after the bridge. Head downward to find an item and a Berry tree.

Now that you have got your seven Gym Badges, it is time to challenge the great Raihan himself and bring your Gym Challenge to an end. Raihan is waiting for you in Hammerlocke. Are you sure you are ready for him and his mighty team? Dragon types are famously strong, but they are weak to Ice-type moves. Did you nab any great Ice-type Pokemon back around Circhester? If you didn’t, you might want to consider going back for one or two and then flying to Hammerlocke once more.

Once you reach Hammerlocke, stop by the Pokemon Centre if you need to heal, and then head west. You will find Hop, Leon and Sonia gathered in front of the stadium. They are discussing what just happened, and Professor Magnolia will join the conversation too.

The professor, Sonia and Leon all have plenty to work on, and Hop seems eager to help out. But Leon makes it clear he would prefer for both of you to focus on completing the Gym Challenge for now. After that, everyone will head off on their own way and you will be free to explore Hammerlocke once more.

Legends of Galar: The Darkest Day and Dynamaxing

Professor Magnolia seems to suspect that the incident on Route 7 and the Darkest Day are connected somehow. It is true that evidence suggest the Darkest Day involved massive Pokemon. Could it be somehow Pokemon were able to Dynamax without being near Power Spots? Is this how the Darkest Day began, all those years ago? If so, then the Dynamax Pokemon on Route 7 may well be a sing of something far more dire…
